The ultra large container ship handling training course provides simulator training on the CMA CGM 400 meter container ship capable of carrying more than 16,700 TEUs.
Due to the fast advancement in ship building technology versus the competitively of ports, it was decided to carry out a training and research study on the new breed of container ships.
The model is the CMA CGM 400 metres built in the Hyundai Ship Yards, South Korea. With a total load of 16,700 TEU’s, the vessel challenges all and sundry, from Pilots to Tug Masters and Port infrastructures especially when severe meteorological conditions prevail.
The learning objectives of this training programme are, to give all parties concerned the opportunity to develop confidence and preparation, prior to the arrival of this type of vessel. All parties can experience and understand the constraints of this type of vessel imposed on port infrastructure and equipment, to avoid unnecessary risks that may lead to injury, pollution to our ports, national waters and damage to property.
No prerequisites required.
The Class Size is limited to 4 persons.
The course will be delivered by experienced lecturers at MMRTC.
MMRTC will issue a Certificate of Attendance on the merit of 100% attendance.
